Obama administration conducted 'peace negotiations' with the Haqqani network

In an effort to carry out the President's policy of appeasement and secure an exit strategy in Afghanistan before the 2012 Presidential election, U.S. officials secretly met with members of the Pakastani-based Haqqani [Taliban] network, a terrorist group with ties to Al Qaeda, according to recent media reports.

The Obama administration claims that the meetings were held prior to the recent attacks on the U.S. embassy and NATO's military headquarters in Afghanistan, which U.S. officials attribute to the Haqqani network - although the terrorist network denies this allegation.

However, it should be noted that the admistration, long before the aforementioned attacks, lambasted the Pakistani government for its refusal to take on the Haqqani network and its insistence on pursuing peace talks with the terrorist group.

The criticics included President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates. Hence, the latest revelation that the Obama administration was negotiatiing with the Haqqani network is clearly just another example of the White House's blatant hypocrisy.

Nothing really new here; par for the course....
